Jackfruit was born out of a need by it’s founders for body and earth loving garments. We started by making for ourselves, and when we realised how long lasting and comfortable our pieces were, we wanted to share them with the world.

With our backgrounds in fashion, makeup, performance and retail, we have seen first hand how destructive the fashion and beauty industries can be, and we want to do things differently. We've launched with ethical underwear (made from bamboo and organic cotton) in minimal styles with comfort in mind. We're also proud to say that we are accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.

Our pieces are made small batches in Australia with care, and we utilise solar energy to construct and dye them. We’re a small business (a very small business – a mother and daughter duo) with design and construction in our bones. From the beginning of the process, our designs and patterns, to dying our fabric and the construction of our garments, we do everything ourselves – right here in the beautiful Byron Shire – shipped to you using no plastics in home compostable shipping bags.

We promise that we will never sell you anything that we wouldn’t be happy to wear ourselves, and to always listen to your feedback. We're constantly reevaluating our suppliers and methods of production to ensure minimal waste is created, and that we are showing the utmost care for the planet and all her inhabitants. To this end, everything we sell is earth friendly, sustainably sourced, ethically made, and free from animal products. Even our banking is cruelty free!

We wish to acknowledge the custodians of the land on which we live, love, learn, and conduct our business - the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung nation and their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of these lands.
