Story time (an update): fabric, dye and supplies - oh my!
A few months ago my mum (also my business partner, for those who don't know) decided it was time for her to retire. Her carpal tunnel symptoms were increasingly painful, she had adopted a dog with special needs who was taking up a lot of her time, and the day to day stresses of running a business in general were becoming a bit much for her. It was a bit of a transition for me, stepping into the role of "doing literally everything" but it's been fun too, and I'm learning more than I ever dreamed I would.
I was staying on top of things (just) until I began to have inconsistencies with dye batches and trouble getting the supplies that I need. Our not-friend COVID is to blame for some - but certainly not all - of this, but regardless it really threw a spanner in the works. I've changed most of my suppliers now and found myself a lovely new network of business who really do want to support me, so I'm getting everything sorted, but it's been a ride I tell ya! And in the process I've decided to make a few changes around here.
Being such a small business I'm limited to where I can source my supplies from, and in the spirit of going with the flow I've decided to make every new colour a limited run. How long each sticks around will be dependant on how it's selling and the quantity of the particulars I have on hand. This will vary from shade to shade, so if you see one you like, it's going to be a good idea to get it while you know you can. On this note: desert sage bralettes are sold out, and I can only make up a limited amount of briefs and g-strings with the fabric I have remaining. You have approximately 36 hours to snap these up before they'll be gone.
The black and undyed shades are going to be available indefinitely, and custom sizing will be unavailable for the time being. I honestly just don't have the time for customs, and I really don't like charging much for the option, making it unrealistic business wise - at the moment. This being said, if you want a size that's not in the range currently I'm happy to make it. I do want to continue being as inclusive as possible, that means a lot to me.
Now that the business is just me, I've also decided it should reflect more of me so I'm working on doing some rebranding (and I'm really excited about it). I'm going to be doing more of my own photography and less supplying product to influencers, so I'm going to be able to do more regular shoots, and be able to control more of the aesthetic.
I'm learning how to do all my own pattern making at the moment as well (because mum just can't physically) and I'm looking forward to being able to whip up different styles whenever I please. If there's something you're dying for please, please hit me up. I love your enthusiastic requests! I'm also going to be working on building up (small) stock levels so that not every item has to be made when ordered, but this will only be in the most common sizes and popular shades initially.
That's all for now, thanks for stopping by.
